Sacro’s Scottish Community Mediation Centre has been awarded Registered Training Provider status by the Restorative Justice Council (RJC). In addition, we have - following assessment – gained Approved Course status for our Restorative Skills training.

The Restorative Justice Council is the independent membership body for the field of restorative practice, covering the whole of the UK. Sacro is a member of the RJC.

These successes have followed a rigorous process of pre-application meeting, application drafting and submission, assessment, and a recorded professional discussion. It is recognition that Sacro’s training centre and Restorative Skills course meet the requirements and standards of the RJC and agree to their Code of Practice.

Sacro’s Restorative Justice and Community Safety Manager, Liam Gale said:

"This accreditation not only validates the quality and rigor of our training but also underscores our commitment to excellence in the field of restorative practices. As leaders in this important area, we strive to provide our students and staff with the highest quality training; equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in their professional endeavours."

Being skilled in restorative practices is important for Sacro staff in helping people rebuild their lives and move forwards. For many years, the practice has been a core principle of our support, particularly in our work with Adult Restorative Justice and Youth Justice services over the years.

Our Restorative Skills course is only the second training course in Scotland to be approved by RJC and we look forward to building our relationship with them over the coming months and years.

Sacro is now taking bookings for our next Restorative Skills training in October.
